Welcome to Windridge Maths Tuition in 2024

A brief introduction from Richard:

Welcome to my office, from where I can meet and work with you online or in person when we can sit down and do maths together.

I am married and my wife is at home when I have students coming here for tuition after school. I have 3 children and 4 grandchildren to keep me young. The wall picture indicates that I have been in agriculture as well as education and now I have the privilege of doing a hybrid for my day job, as well as the maths tuition after school hours.

Now  a few thoughts on maths tuition:

There have never been so many free resources on the internet  to help maths students. There are free tutorials covering every topic within the whole mathematics curriculum.  Experienced and cutting edge maths teachers have pioneered this interactive approach because they want to see young (and not so young) people succeed and enjoy mathematics.

However, often the root issue is one of confidence.  I have found that even students who are able to work out a correct answer, still want an assurance or a helpful suggestion.

Sometimes, the success of personal tuition is the discipline of having to keep an appointment with a tutor (even remotely) and settle down to the task without the distractions of social media.

The aim of one-to-one tuition is to help students: gain confidence, deepen their mathematical understanding and work together with the school to achieve their target grade. In an hour session, we think maths, talk maths and do maths.

I have had 15 years of private tuition experience as well as several years teaching and i recognise that there must be a good relationship for successful tuition. So I always offer a first session as a taster FOC and then let the student and parent go away and discuss if the session was beneficial before making any further arrangements.
